Description

We present natural fennel seed hydrolate for perfumery, obtained from the plant of the species Foeniculum vulgare. Fennel Seed natural hydrolate for perfumery is the name known outside the country. The oil ducts in the pericarp of the mericarps collect the volatile fraction and keep it intact right up to the steam extraction from the raw material. The herbal raw material comprises the dry fruit of the plant itself. When ripening, the fruit forms mericarps with longitudinal ribs, which shape the appearance of the harvested raw material. The water vapor during extraction ensures the purity of the aromatic profile, which is why the finished liquid follows the composition of the harvested dry seed raw material. The color lies between light yellow and greenish. The liquid form is fully preserved. The aroma of medium strength goes together with the herbal and warm direction of the scent, which ends with a slight sweetness. The Apiaceae family determines the kinship of the species, while the plantations in the Bulgarian fields follow the natural cultivation regime. Added preservatives and colorants have no place in the final composition of this product. Along with anethole and fenchone, limonene explains the sweetish side of the scent that can be recognized in this seed distillate. The medium strength of the aroma of fennel seed hydrolate results directly from the amount of volatile substances collected in the fruit wall of the individual mericarps. The light color of the liquid comes from the seed tissue, while the aqueous base keeps the volatile constituents dissolved throughout the entire volume of the finished distillate. The dry fruit raw material determines both the aromatic profile and the persistence of the herbal direction throughout the entire volume of the finished liquid. The final liquid brings together the natural field, the seed material and the medium herbal aroma of the scent.
